Relax and unwind at our drop in yoga sessions!

Run by the very wonderful Kerrie Murray Dru Yoga is a beautiful, flowing form of yoga for all abilities and ages. It helps to relax, unwind and stretch out your body. It also revives tired muscles, reduces back pain and combats stress. Yoga gives your body a much-needed rest from all the ‘doing.’ In particular, it gives your mind a chance to stop, relax and find a quiet, still point in your busy world.

Yoga involves so much more than physical poses, practiced on a yoga mat. Yoga is a way of living the very best life you can. It is learning to accept your body, who you are and the situation you are in. But most importantly, it is learning to be kind to - and love - yourself.

Caring for your wellbeing has to come from within. You need to let go of expectations and embrace the present moment. Yoga gives you the tools to do this!

Marbling Demonstration

By Studio Paperie

Catherine Northorpe is a marble artist and founder of Studio Paperie based in the North East of England. She started marbling last year during lockdown, and since then has fallen in love with the craft.

Marbling has been around for centuries and has seen a recent resurgence in popularity. The process itself is incredibly cathartic, and for Catherine, it provided a sense of escapism from what has been a particularly turbulent year! Catherine firmly believes that quality craftsmanship and in turn, beautiful products, should be accessible to all.

At Studio Paperie, they intend to breathe new life into this ancient craft, and provide each individual with their own bespoke piece of magic, whether that is through one of our workshops - where you can learn to marble yourself - or through purchasing a piece from our unique, hand-marbled range of stationary.

Studio Paperie will be with us all day demonstrating this beautiful artform with the chance to give it a try and see what you create!

Rug Making Demonstration

By Loop & Yarn

Ruth started Loop and Yarn during the final year of her Textiles and Surface Design. degree and The Northern School of Art. She is based in South Shields, producing one of a kind, colourful abstract rugs and wall pieces from her home studio using a rug tufting gun.

Her pieces aim to bring some excitement and happiness to the room. She enjoys mixing textures by alternating between loop and cut pile and often incorporates large punch needle loops in her work to create excess depth.

There’s usually tassels too, tassels improve everything, right?

Come and watch as Ruth creates a rug in a day!
