We’re Rachel & Lyndsey, creators of the Make & Mend Company — a place rooted in our shared passion for making and its power to repair, restore and rejuvenate. Make & Mend grew from our love of mindful mending and handcrafted happiness, and our desire to share that joy with others.

The Make & Mend Festival began in 2018 with a simple but heartfelt aim: to create an event that inspires, teaches and nourishes. We want everyone who attends to leave feeling uplifted, creatively energised and confident to explore their own making practice. At its heart, the festival is about encouraging you to unleash your creative spirit and let your true colours shine.

We’re a small team with big ambitions, bringing together a carefully curated programme of workshops, talks and experiences led by incredible creatives from across the North East and beyond. Each year, Make & Mend is a chance to slow down, learn new skills, connect with others and rediscover the joy and wellbeing that comes from creating something by hand.
