MAKERS MARKETPLACE
The Makers Marketplace will return for 2023 with a range of thoughtfully curated craft kits and handmade gifts for those looking for something unique. We are passionate about supporting independent businesses and the market will showcase a small selection of the brilliant makers in the North East.
This year we are also popping up with a Makers Marketplace at Ormesby Hall on Saturday 15th July 10.00am - 4pm. FREE entry to the hall and grounds all day!
Of course the market will continue as part of the Make & Mend Festival day on Sunday 16th - a full weekend of handmade loveliness! Check out the makers joining us below!
Curated by Hello Hooray!
We are very excited to announce that Clare Albans will be curating the market this year!
Clare will be bringing her expert crafty experience to selecting the stallholders and we can't wait to see everyone there!
Clare started with a creative blog sharing her creative ideas and has gone on to develop her own unique brand of colourful embroidery designs with her first book published in 2020.
Hello! Hooray! now has its own retail and workshop studio up in Newcastle so we couldn’t think of anyone better to ask to help us create the marketplace this year!

Tori Lo Designs
Tori Lo Designs was established on the North East coast of England in 2015 by designer Vicky Wade. She crosses boundaries within leather work by using fun and creative dying techniques to hand colour every hide, creating an individual and unique surface that the bags can then be moulded from.
Every step of the process is done by hand, using traditional techniques, including cutting, dying, and sewing. The collection of products features vibrant colour ways and unique brush strokes, bridging a border between classic style and artistic flair.
The emphasis is on quality and endurance that will last for years. The true nature of leather only gets better as the years progress, and a patina develops.

Katie founded her business in 2016, when she began hosting workshops to introduce a sense of connection through painting, when she found herself living a rather isolated life daily life as a remote freelance print designer. This allowed the designer to share her love for painting and the joy and relaxation that comes from putting paint brush to paper.
Since starting with workshops, Katie has branched out into creating designs for her own ranges of products, where she uses hand painted illustrations to create prints for both paper and textile products.
Inspired by the natural world, lots of the designer's work includes flower, fruit and foliage elements along with joyful palettes that celebrate colour.
